I was in London for the Ron Arad exhibition at the Barbican Gallery and I must admit that the recent London trip had been extremely fruitful for me and had endeared London to me. I had been moving around different parts of Europe these two years but London had struck me as a city that is somewhat similar to New York, but it has an old-worldly charm that is uniquely London (pardon the pun if this sounds like something that is vaguely related to our tourism board), every street and corners is filled with creative energy. Which is somewhat different from the ‘very subtle sorrow’ I detected in Berlin, or the lackadaisical air that seemingly breeze through Italian towns. What makes London tick? Boy, I am attracted to the cityand when I was at AA London or the Serpentine Gallery, I cannot tear myself away from the materials that are in front of me. If only I had more time in London…

One of the exhibitions I truly enjoyed, without the need to rush, was the Ron Arad exhibition at the Barbican Gallery. With the videos and mockups that are carefully structured around the central open space where all the other products designed by him are free for public to interact with, one can see the different ideas and development that went through his mind as he conceptualized his designs. Yet, I do feel that the curator-ship of the works can be improved, as there are no clear indication on how one will need to enjoy the exhibition. Below are some pictures taken by me on the exhibitions, enjoy!
