Van Doesburg and the International Avant-Garde
I was in London for the Van Doesburg and the International Avant-Garde at Tate Modern last March. Besides the superbly fantastic exhibits located at other floors, this exhibition was particularly striking, as I had just completed the subject on how De Stijl movement had been integral to the development of modernism architectural movement, or how visual arts can inspire architecture to move towards a new conceptualization in forms and space. The sketches, paintings and models exhibited had detailed the development of De Stjil and the other Dutch artists who had contributed in this intellect revolution. Alas, I was unable to get films that were screened during the exhibition, as I was extremely fascinated by this short flim by Eggeling, Viking, titled Diagonal Symphony, Rhytmus 21 by Hans Richter and Colour Light Play Sonatine ii Ludwig hirschfeld Mack and Corinne Schweizer.
